We believe that youth ministry thrives at the intersection of community and discipleship, where students are formed together into the likeness of Christ.

A thriving youth ministry is oriented around students’ formation as life-long disciples of Jesus. Over the duration of students’ involvement in the high school ministry, our hope and aim is to equip them to engage deeply in Christian community for the sake of Christian discipleship.

First Steps: Confirmation Explore

Confirmation Explore is a semester-long program for 8th grade students to discover God's deep love in Christ and to learn the basics of Christian faith. This program is multi-faceted and includes a weekly class, one-on-one mentoring, two class parties, two retreats, and an ending celebration.

If your child is in the 8th grade and interested in joining Confirmation Explore, click below for more details.

Next Steps: Confirmation Embrace

Confirmation Embrace is an extension of Confirmation Explore and is offered each fall for any high school student who is ready to commit their life to Jesus, take the next step in embracing Jesus with their whole life, and become a covenant partner here at First Pres.

We are so excited about our upcoming Confirmation Embrace Retreat which will be October 21 at Flow Farm from 9am-5pm.

The Confirmation Embrace Retreat is your student’s opportunity to make that important decision to join the church. Our day at Flow Farm will be a combination of worship, lessons, and spiritual practices – all within the beautiful setting on the Farm. Our topics include Embracing God with Your Mind, Embracing Your Identity in Christ with your Heart, and Embracing the Church with Your Life. These sessions will be led by Bo Brookby, Beth Hilliard, and Allysen Waters. Students will then have a chance to write down their journey and statements of faith and given an opportunity to share that with an elder. Amy Carlan will also be joining us.
