MARCH 28, 2025 UPDATE

We are entering week four of construction so it is a great time to shout out a thank you to several people!

  • Our superintendent(s) from Blum have been very collaborative and informative as they have given tours, answered questions, and kept the workers, staff, and visitors safe! Mason Doub and Thomas Sawtelle have been great partners and we are thankful for their presence and leadership on the worksite.
  • Our church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers have been very patient and helpful in learning new ways to navigate our campus and helping direct others. Thank you all for adapting to change and being flexible with a smile!
  • Parking lot greeters (please see more about parking below) have been very helpful on Sunday mornings helping people park, assisting people in the rain, and still offering a cup of coffee! – thank you!!

And thanks to all our covenant partners and visitors for your support, patience, and understanding as we adjust to construction on our campus!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The fellowship hall, gallery lounge, hallway, and bathroom demolition continue while at the same time, framing for the walls in the fellowship hall is well underway! Plumbers, electricians, framers, and HVAC techs have been on campus in full force helping with the demolition and preparing for putting all the pieces back together.

This week, we also started making progress in the parking lot as pavement was excavated and erosion control measures put in place

CAMPUS NAVIGATION AND PARKING

Thanks to everyone for your patience and cooperation as campus navigation and parking are impacted during the week and on Sunday mornings. With excavation of the parking lot starting this week, you will notice a few changes when you come to campus on Sunday. Please consider the following as you worship and participate in ministries starting on Sunday:

  • We currently have 27 spaces available (subject to change) between Building B (offices/student ministry) and Building C (Worship Center). Some of these spaces are marked for those with handicap placards/plates. We ask that the remainder of these spaces be left for additional persons with ADA or other special needs considerations.
  • The surface parking lot across 2nd Street from Building C (Worship Center) has 17 parking spaces on the 2nd Street side marked as “Visitor and Senior Parking/Sunday Morning Only.” Please honor these signs as you consider parking on Sunday mornings.
  • Starting this week, on Sunday mornings, we will unlock the 2nd Street Worship Center door at 9:00 a.m. to allow people parking in the 2nd Street lot easier access to Buildings A and B.
  • Also starting this week, the fence-side walkway in front of the garage has been closed to ensure safety. However, please feel free to use the marked grassy area beside Building C to traverse to and from Marshall Street. It is acknowledged that this would not be adequate for a wheelchair or stroller and we apologize for that inconvenience. The Cherry Street sidewalk is the best option for those with such considerations. SEE MAP BELOW.
  • The sidewalks on Marshall Street and Cherry Street will still be available to walk to the Marshall Street entrance and Sanctuary, respectively. We apologize that they narrow at certain points.
  • As Blake mentioned in our announcements last Sunday, please be open to a change in your parking rhythm and, as you and your family are able, take advantage of free parking in the Cherry Street Parking Deck, the First Pres 2nd Street lot, and street parking on Marshall, Cherry, Third, Spruce (opposite side of Winston Square Park), and other streets. QR code slips for free parking in the Cherry Street deck are available in the Sanctuary narthex and Worship Center Lobby.

Joyfully worshipping together on Sunday morning is a gift to us all. Our prayer is that any barriers to community worship, regardless of the reason, will be overcome by God’s hand through the work of the church.
