Middle School Great Escape

July 26-30

Overview | Join us as we go down to Camp Southwind in Ocklawaha, Florida from July 26-30! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to spend time in deep community with one another while growing in their own personal walk with Christ. During our time there, we will have access to all the fun activities that come with a Young Life camp (giant water slide, ropes course, giant swing, and so much more!) while still having intentional time throughout our day spent worshipping, listening to sermons, and having small group study!

Registration | Open January 27-March 6

High School DR Trip

June 16-21

Overview | We will be visiting our mission partners at Mission Emanuel, an organization working in Cielo, in the Dominican Republic. This is an opportunity to learn about their ongoing efforts and to participate deeply in their community for the sake of sharing the gospel. We want to learn how we can best love and support them over the long haul, as well as why poverty is such a systemic issue in this area. In addition to the trip itself, we will have mandatory pre-trip training meetings and a mandatory follow up meeting to discover how God is shaping this organization, the Cielo community, and our own community.

Registration | Open January 27-March 6

Speaker | Rev. Dr. Sara Singleton

Not often does one get to be a pastor’s kid, a pastor’s wife, and a pastor, but that is part of Sara Singleton’s story. Before becoming a pastor, she practiced twenty years as a registered nurse while raising a family. Sara graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (hence the occasional Texas twang) and later earned a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in S. Hamilton, MA. Since then she’s trained for a certificate in spiritual direction. She compiled and published a two-volume set of audio devotionals titled Hearts on Pilgrimage and Continuing the Journey as well as the Cape Town Commitment Call to Action: Study Guide for Small Groups. She was the founding director of Elder Leadership Institute from 2012 to 2015. Since early 2017 she’s been the pastor of Old South Presbyterian Church in Newburyport, MA, an historic church built in 1756 that includes the crypt of the famous evangelist, Rev. George Whitefield. Sara is a retreat speaker for churches both nationally and internationally. She and her husband have two grown children and three grandchildren, the youngest, five year-old Hunter, whom they are raising. Her hobbies include jogging, weight-lifting, reading, and raising chickens. She is excited to be returning to Montreat where she met her husband and honeymooned many years ago.
