Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Along with their shoe box children are offered storybooks that explain the Good News of Jesus Christ in their local language. This program, of Samaritan’s Purse, provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in this program by filling a shoe box with gifts. Last year we collected 519 shoe boxes!

Please follow these guidelines and instructions for shoe boxes. Thank you!

• Use an empty shoebox or plastic container provided by the church at Welcome Centers. You may wrap the box (optional) (lid wrapped separately). More important, pray for the child who will receive your gift.
• Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl and what age. Tape the appropriate Boy/Girl label to the top of your box (labels are available where boxes are located).
• Fill with gifts (school supplies, toys, personal hygiene items, T-shirts, shoes, socks, etc.) Do not include toy guns, military figures, liquids, toothpaste, or candy, or breakable items.
Include a $9 donation to cover shipping and gift of New Testament.
Drop off at Welcome Centers on or before November 16 (if you miss the deadline, please take directly to Pinedale Christian Church by November 20).
• Please contact Rebecca Tolley to volunteer with this project.
