What is TreeHouse?
TreeHouse, the First Presbyterian Children's Ministry, includes three areas of ministry: "Sandbox" - our childcare ministry, "Backyard" - our preschool ministry which includes Sunday School and Mustard Seed Club, and "Connections" - our Elementary ministry which includes Sunday School, Children's Church, Kindergarten Worship and KidzClub.
Backyard is designed to give our children their first impressions of a loving heavenly Father. It is during these formative years that we give our preschoolers and their families the opportunities to explore and experience the wonderful Biblical truths of the love God has for them. Connections is designed to help children learn to make the wise choice, know that they can trust God no matter what, and understand how to treat others the way they want to be treated. Each opportunity that the children have to participate will teach them that there is only one place to find the answers in the Bible!

There is no safer and exciting place in your backyard as the sandbox: a place of exploration and stimulation! That's where we offer childcare for our youngest children!

The scripture says "Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths." (Psalm 119:18) and this is what we want our children to experience in the Backyard on Sunday morning. Using a preschool curriculum based on the popular Beginner's Bible, kids will begin to understand who Jesus is and experience His love through large group and small group sessions. Our goal is to direct kids toward becoming fully-devoted followers of Christ.

Wednesday nights our preschoolers experience memorable Bible stories, worshiping through song, engaging hands-on activities, and a question & answer format, all to make sure our littlest learners really "get it." During the year our Mustard Seed kids hear, see, and say the "First Catechism" and begin to understand and memorize it.

Connections is specifically designed to help the children connect with each other, their leaders and Jesus.
K-3rd Sunday School will be using Group's
Faithweaver Bible Curriculum. It is designed to take students past head knowledge of the Bible into a growing relationship with Jesus.
4th and 5th grade Sunday School will be using Group's Preteen curriculum called Grapple. In each lesson preteens will dig into the Bible to grapple with faith and life issues from What if Jesus is a liar? to Why can't I go to PG-13 movies?
Kindergarten Worship is a program designed for Kindergartners to experience God in an exciting way while they learn about God. Participants are given a special environment where they can meet and worship God and where their faith can be nurtured in preparation for joining in the full life of the congregation. (advanced registration required)
Children's Church (1st-3rd grades) - Children will attend worship with their parents and midway through the service they will be excused to the second floor of the worship center for their own lesson. We will be using an extension of the FaithWeaver Curriculum called Kid's Own Worship. The children will participate in skits, do art projects, and play games all while learning God's Word.
KidzClub is the Wednesday night program that is designed to teach the children how to apply Jesus' teachings to everyday life. It is based on Virtues that are directly tied to scripture. The children will meet with their small group leader for 25 minutes to share personal time, and pray. They will gather as one large group for an upbeat, high energy experience that includes praise singing, lead by the KidzClub praise and worship team, a drama to explain Jesus' teaching in everyday language, and the Word that reinforces the connected Bible story for the week. When they are dismissed from KidzClub they will be given a take home page with information to use and discuss at home to reinforce the teachings for the night.
