[the team]

Introducing the 2010-2011 team!  Some new faces.  Some familiar.  And while this is our "staff", Emmaus is supported by dozens of students.  You'll just have to meet them on a Tuesday night!

Justin Lewis, director

Justin is a NC native and his family consists of Holly (wife of 8 years), daughter Tessa, and two furry mutts named Montana and Neela.  Justin is abnormally excited when new summer blockbusters use CGI graphics to obliterate any previous attempts at quality action movies. Justin's office has a slick golden (ish) couch that would like for you to come and sit on it. Or you can just meet him up for coffee to talk about Tessa, the Red Sox, or his freshman year bike accident story.  (more from the Lewis family blog)

Aimie Long, full-time intern

Aimie is the new full-time Emmaus intern. She is an only child born and raised in Chattanooga, TN.  She attended UTC for undergrad with a degree in secondary education and a concentration in English.  She likes to run, sing, read, be adventurous, drink coffee, and play ultimate frisbee...in that order :)

LindsayLindsay Tharpe, student intern

Lindsay returns as student intern.  She is a native from Elkin, NC where she loves spending time with her family and enjoying the beautiful mountains!  Spending her past summers abroad, Lindsay loves traveling, experiencing new cultures, and meeting new people.  Lindsay is a senior at Salem College where she is majoring in International Relations and hopes to one day do medical mission work.  Lindsay lives for finding the beauty of God's love in each day and is super excited for what this year holds!

D ChuDanny Chu, student intern

God walks ‘slowly’ because he is love. If he is not love he would have gone much faster. Love has its speed. It is an inner speed. It is a spiritual speed. It is a different kind of speed from the technological speed to which we are accustomed. It is ‘slow’ yet it is lord over all other speeds since it is the speed of love. It goes on in the depth of our life, whether we notice or not, whether we are currently hit by storm or not, at three miles an hour. It is the speed we walk and therefore it is the speed the love of God walks.

Beth AnnBeth Ann Williams, student intern

5' 2''. Anthropology and History Double Major at Wake Forest University. Having an identity crisis as to where she is from: Texas, Kentucky, Florida, Kenya...who knows.   She loves the Lord so much, and she is so excited to grow closer to Him through being an Emmaus intern.  She is also stoked to spend more time with the awesome people that attend Emmaus. She is currently not sure what she wants to do with her life, although she is considering going into nonprofits. She loves chocolate, cats, and long walks in the woods. The end. .
