Many 1st Pres attendees will tell you that volunteering to spend the night at Samaritan Inn is one of the highlights of their Christmas season. We’ve been staffing the Inn with six volunteers each night of December for more than 25 years! Please consider signing up!

Samaritan Inn moved into a new state-of-the-art facility late last year. There are new and improved facilities for guests and volunteers alike. You should definitely come and check it out. The new Inn is a place to witness God at work right in our own community.

While volunteering for a 12 hour overnight shift, you have the opportunity to cook dinner for the Inn’s guests, visit with them for a couple of hours in the evening, participate in a great Bible study, monitor the night time activities, and finally cook, and serve an early breakfast. You’ll be done and out the door by 7:00 am.

Volunteering at Samaritan Inn is great way to take part in a 12 hour long mission experience without ever leaving Winston-Salem; and it is an important part of our commitment to better serve and minister to our downtown neighbors.

Our volunteers include men and women, from high school seniors to senior citizens, small groups and individuals, brand new and long-time members. You can sign up as a group or sign up by yourself and we will partner you with some congregation members that you might not know yet.  This is a great way to get involved and make new friends.

Thanks for helping the homeless in our city!
